Comparing intelligence to electricity or water suggests a few things: Always available - not something you “own,” but something you tap into whenever needed. Metered consumption - you pay for usage, like compute, tokens, or API calls, rather than buying software once. Utility scale dependence - it becomes embedded in daily life and business operations to the point where people stop thinking about using AI and just expect it to be there. I still meet people today who question whether AI is going to have a significant impact. They have no idea why is coming. Via https://backtest.substack.com/p/sam-altman-we-see-a-future-where
